T. William Phillips was born in Dallas, Texas, and raised in Tomball, a little town just outside of Houston.  His father is a petroleum engineer and his mother is a teacher.  Phillips attended high school in Denver, Colorado, graduating a sememster early and moving back to Houston where he worked at a bar.

After a semester at Montana State University in Bozeman and a semester at Lone Star College, Phillips decided a formal education just wasn’t for him.  In the summer of 2006, he moved to Los Angeles where he worked at a movie theater, as well as on movie sets as an extra, a production assistant, and other jobs that never make the end credits.  He worked on feature films, short films, and music videos, and directed a few short films of his own while a student at the New York Film Academy.

In 2008, Phillips moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, and began working on a novel.  In 2010, Restless Heart was published.  He is currently working on a “Border Trilogy” of three unrelated novels about life on the Texas-Mexico border, set against the backdrop of the cartel violence in Mexico, drug smuggling, and illegal immigration.  He currently lives in Kerrville, Texas.
